17 things I learnt in 2017

2017 was a funny ol’ year for me. It was filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows but here we are, it’s over and 2018 is upon us. This must be the most optimistic and motivated I’ve ever felt for a new year and although I can’t wait to get my teeth well and truly stuck into it I’ve taken a lil’ bit of time to look back on the past 12 months. Here’s what mighty 2017 taught me.

1. You literally NEVER know what will happen tomorrow so you’ve just gotta go with the flow.

2. Grandparents are life’s greatest treasure, don’t take them for granted

3. Don’t start tomorrow, start today (you’ll thank yourself tomorrow, trust me)

4. Crumpets and Nutella is the greatest combination on earth

5. If it won’t bother you in a week then don’t let it bother you (too much) today

6. Change your thoughts and you’ll change your world

7. You aint chocolate so you ain’t ever gunna please everyone

8. Sometimes getting that perfect insta shot isn’t all it’s cracked up to be

2017: The year Stockholm captured my heart and my other half learnt how to take a cracking shot

9. Time literally flies when you’re having fun (hello, Christmas break, where have you gone??)

10. It’s OK to choose the sofa and a blanket over a nightclub and a gin…

11. …. but sometimes you’ve gotta pull yourself together, put in ya biggest hooped earrings and drink allllll the gin

12. There is no such thing as too many clothes

13. Sometimes you have to text first (a lil bit of effort can go a long way don’t ya know)

14. Stockholm is potentially the best city on earth (after Liverpool obviously)

15. There is no greater comfort than getting knee deep into a good book

16. A cup of tea solves 99% of problems

17. Avocado is still vile but maybe I can learn to tolerate it
